Superior Sports Network Advisory Board Directors appoints Kia L. Mason, as part of The MDE-Task Force Team.

With her diverse and impressive backgrounds she has, it will be an advantage to have Ms. Mason who is a great leader be apart of our MDE -Task Force Programs with Superior Sports Network, "said Scott Vowels, Associate Chairman, Superior Sports Network.

This is not the first time any of The SWAC staff members was apart of the Advisory Board, there was Robert Vowels, former SWAC Commissioner, now Vice-President of Educational Services of the NCAA, Nichelle Gainey, former SWAC Commissioner of Marketing and Sponsorship, now CEO of Silverstone International.

Kia Mason joined the Southwestern Athletic Conference in February, 2009 as the Assistant Director of Communications.

Mason joins the SWAC staff from the Event Authority in Charlotte, NC, where she was actively responsible for the promotion and production of high-profile events such as the Jordan Brand Classic, the FBR Open, and the Burger King Kings of the Court 3-on-3 Basketball Tournaments nationwide.

Mason brings nearly 10 years of sports information background to the Conference office, having worked as the Sports Information Director at North Carolina A&T (2001-03), and as an assistant at Morgan State, Elon University, Coppin State , and the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference office.

Mason, a native of Ft. Washington, Maryland, earned her Bachelor's of Science degree with a concentration in Sport Administration from Morgan State and a Master of Science in Sport Studies from High Point University.
