JOURDAN DEMUYNCK -“UNDER THE RADAR”

Jourdan Demuynck, I attended Prairie View A&M University.

6’6 Shooting guard

A lot of people don’t know this but I’m actually a big video game nerd, so besides just going to the gym to shoot most of my time is taken by playstation lol.

Whenever I’m in a leadership role I try and get others to follow me by, first staying positive and seeing where they’re coming from and second, I try and talk to them one on one because I know that always helped me the most.

To keep myself in shape I do push-ups and squats as a daily routine regardless if I have practice or weights, even on my days off. If I know were gonna have a light practice I try to push myself to get that extra cardio in. If I feel like I’m not getting enough cardio and shots up I’ll try and do it on my own. I’m always watching basketball and trying to practice different moves to keep myself improving.

My main passion in life is to support my family and return the favor to those who helped me get to where I am today.

I would say my strengths are my mid range game, finishing, always finding the open man, free throws and rebounding. Things I need to improve are my above the rim play and using both sides of the court consistently.

When athletes see me on the cover I want them to realize that I’m not much different from them. All it takes is dedication and hard work to succeed.

I feel very honored to be able to a part of The Superior Sports Network and humbled that I was chosen to shed some insight and background on my career and life.

My role model growing up was definitely my mother. A single mom raising several kids wasn’t easy but throughout my career which started very early she was always supportive. She kept me outta trouble and raised me to be a smart and hard working young man.

As the oldest of several siblings growing up I was always used to being a role model. I do take pride in it and I try to do the best that I can for others who look up to me that I don’t know about.

Style to me is the way that a person carries them self. I got mine from the people I was raised around and I take pride in my style. People tell me it’s noticeable on the court as well. I’m told by some that I have a sort of old school game which I take pride in and plan on keeping through my career because it’s different.

My whole life I’ve wanted to play professional basketball. Now that I am here in my career you realize that you can always still get better and keep climbing so that is what I intend to do.

If I’m known for having one of the more eccentric personalities, I guess I got that from being so competitive growing up and always being outgoing. I like that people view me this way because I wouldn’t want to be seen as boring.

I think if a documentary movie were to be done on me I think a fitting title would be ‘Under the Radar’. Mainly because I was really under recruited with the skills I had growing up not coming from the most popular schools but in the end, thankfully still made it.
